Remote Oil Cooler Adapter

Our adapter allows the Corvair owner to install the oil cooler in any location as well as to use any AN-8 hose with a larger cooler if necessary (To avoid oil starvation, we do NOT recommend using any fittings smaller than AN-8). Rather than the standard adapter that bolts to the existing adapter on the engine block, our adapter bolts directly to the engine block to avoid the need for three sealing surfaces (block and 2 viton seals). Using the standard adapter gasket, the bracket is securely attached to the block with the stock two bolts and precludes any leaks or failure of the viton seals originally used. The outlets of the adapter are AN-8 fittings as shown (the other fitting has been removed to show the 3/8" NPT thread in the adapter, ready to accept all major aircraft oil cooling hoses (Aeroquip, etc.) with aircraft-grade compression fittings.
