About our company

Venturay was founded by a "bunch" of pilots intent on developing affordable flight instruments. Some of us are downright cheap, others just want value for their money. But all that is secondary to reliability. If you cannot count on your instruments in flight, you are better off without them. And what we all have in common is a love of flying.

In addition, many of us and our friends have had close encounters with in-flight emergencies. Everything from complete engine failure to parts and pieces failing or simply flying off.

Some of us have also taken great pleasure in building and flight-testing experimental aircraft and experimental engines. So we feel that we share a lot of the concerns of our fellow pilots, whether they fly Aeroncas, Bellancas, Cubs... all the way to Zodiacs.

One common thread is that we strive to help each other and to make flying safer. Venturay was thus founded with the guiding principle of designing affordable technology -- in our view, it makes no sense to build an instrument that increases safety if no one can afford it.

The other side of the coin is that we believe that each pilot has to assume his/her responsibilities to the fullest. We have all heard of ridiculous lawsuits filed by seemingly shameless individuals. Therefore, our philosophy is simple. We will design and sell products to improve safety on one condition: our customers have to recognize that flying is inherently DANGEROUS! If you disagree with this, you should not buy from us, nor should you be flying. When the engine quits, you cannot simply pull over to the side of the road. When the clouds close in, you cannot simply pull off at the next exit.

So please: be a safe pilot; be a respectful pilot; enjoy the tremendous privilege we have in our country of experiencing freedom at 10,000 feet.
